Remembering
For too long, the history of colonialism related to Berlin has been written from the perspective of the Global North. We remember the colonial-racist reign of injustice and honor the resistance.
Reparations
It is impossible to “make amends” for colonial crimes. But where there has been deception, looting and extermination, there must be a willingness to take responsibility, to restitute and to pay reparations.

Berlin Postkolonial is an initiative of people from Germany’s former colonies and from Europe. We take a critical look at Berlin’s colonial-racist past and present through city tours, projects, exhibitions and campaigns.
